Dear Marla,

I suspect most Vanilla folks cannot possibly grok how it feels to live in two different worlds as I do. (In this case, I capitalized 'Vanilla' to indicate that I refer to the entire milieu of Vanilla-ism. This includes all aspects of the culture surrounding their sexuality that is not kinky. But, what does 'kinky' mean?

I'll take a stab at that...

Let's start with a definition of fetish that seems to be fairly ubiquitous. 

 A fetish is a sexually-motivated obsession with some object or body part that is not an aspect of biological mating. For example, some people may have a fetish for specific materials like rubber or latex, while others might be drawn to particular body parts like feet or hands. Additionally, some individuals might have a fetish for specific activities or scenarios, such as role-playing or impact play.
